The Plivo SMS Add-On allows you to send SMS notifications to users quickly and easily. It helps you share updates like task alerts, reminders, or confirmations through text messages. You can link it with other Add-Ons so that messages are sent automatically when certain actions take place. This helps keep users informed in real time, even if they are not using the app.

How To Install The Add-On?

Note: You need to add your phone number while creating the user to have access to the Plivo SMS Add-On.

How To Use The Plivo SMS Add-On?

  • Once you purchase the Add-On, navigate to the settings page, click on system settings, and find Plivo SMS.
  • On that page, you have to enter the Plivo Auth ID, Plivo Auth Token, and Plivo Sender Number, with the help of which you can send messages via Plivo SMS. Plivo SMS

Step 2: Get Your Auth ID & Auth Token

Step 3: Get Your Sender ID (Phone Number)

  • You can either buy a phone number or request an alphanumeric sender ID (depending on the country):
  • Option 1: Buy a Plivo Number (for most countries)
  • In the Plivo Console, go to:
  • Phone Numbers > Buy Numbers
  • Direct Link
  • Choose your country and search for numbers with SMS capability.
  • Click Buy next to a number to purchase it.
  • This number becomes your Sender ID (used as the “from” number when sending SMS).
  • Option 2: Register an Alphanumeric Sender ID (for certain countries)
  • Go to Messaging > Sender IDs in the Console:
  • Sender ID Registration
  • Click Register Sender ID
  • Fill in details like:
  • Desired Sender ID (e.g., MYBRAND)
  • Business name, use case, sample message
  • Target country
  • Submit and wait for approval (depends on country regulations)

Note: Alphanumeric sender IDs may require registration and regulatory approval in some countries, like India.

  • After you do this, you get a chance to choose the notification settings. Here is the way you can enable or disable the notifications of the various Add-Ons.
